Elizabeth J. Zook Printer-Friendly

Elizabeth Zook serves as commercial real estate and business counsel to developers, financial institutions, landlords and individual land owners. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Commercial Real Property Law.

Elizabeth has significant experience structuring, documenting and closing commercial real estate acquisition, development, leasing and financing transactions, both large and small. She has worked on an extensive range of projects including acquiring, selling, and refinancing senior living communities, shopping centers, apartment communities and medical office buildings in North Carolina, throughout the Southeast and on the West Coast. She also advocates for property owners and developers facing complex rezoning issues.

Elizabeth has extensive experience representing financial institutions in foreclosures and in real estate finance transactions including acquisition loans and construction and real estate development lending. She handles all aspects of structuring, negotiating, documenting, and closing loans, and other real estate secured transactions.

Elizabeth routinely works with the firm’s business, tax and litigation departments to address the corollary aspects of real estate, including choice of entity, business organization, litigation and taxation issues.

  • Successfully represented a client in a controversial rezoning petition involving a fast food restaurant proposed for property abutting a residential neighborhood.
  • Successfully represented a client in a petition to rezone property along an interstate highway to permit construction of an automobile dealership.
