Nick Bakatsias Presents at Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Carruthers & Roth director Nicholas J. Bakatsias presented “What Startups Need to Know About Crowdfunding” at the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship on April 6, 2016 as part of the organization’s “Outsiders Wednesday” series. The Nussbaum Center, a business and manufacturing incubator whose purpose is to create wealth and jobs through assisting entrepreneurs, hosts the series throughout the day on the first Wednesday of each month to support entrepreneurship and business.

Nick presented to a crowd of more than 30 entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals. His program examined various types of crowdfunding vehicles that entrepreneurs may utilize to raise capital for their businesses. Nick also provided an overview of how to identify and better understand the regulatory rules applicable to the various forms of crowdfunding upon which small businesses can now rely when seeking outside investors.

Nick works in various areas of business law, supporting mergers, acquisitions and corporate reorganizations, as well as private equity ventures and private placement transactions. Having grown up working in restaurants owned and operated by his family, Nick has a special interest in closely held businesses, including succession planning, taxation and other issues.
